Profile
I started kayaking when I was a child, through school or scouts
- I can't remember. I quickly sought out any opportunity to
improve my kayaking. Over time, this obsession with kayaking led
to me getting involved with the coaching of
others. My personal drive to continuously improve myself
has resulted in me becoming a respected coach capable of
delivering advanced coaching in sea, surf and river
kayaking.
"Life's
journey is not to arrive at the grave safely, but
rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting
f**k, what a ride!!!"
My 20's saw me heavily
involved in beach lifeguarding in Weymouth, where kayaks
were the rescue platform of choice. Again through
personal drive, I am now actively involved in coaching
safety, rescue and first aid to kayakers/canoeists.

I'm a member of
Poole
Harbour Canoe Club, Salford Uni Canoe Club, and
during 2005-2006 I was a regular contributor to Paddles
Magazine.
In 2007, I became a partner in
Masik Publishing, and started publishing
Ocean Paddler magazine, the UK's first 100% dedicated sea
kayaking magazine. |
